The Evil Within 2 for mac instal3/28/2024 ![]() Although it’s possible to run un-notarized apps, Apple recommends against it, and recommends that developers get their apps notarized! Getting apps notarizedĪpple provides a notarization service to developers. This certificate is checked by macOS when the app is run. If the checks pass, Apple will provide a certificate for the app. Developers submit their apps to an Apple service that checks for malware and certain other issues. Notarization is a security mechanism on macOS. My main source for notarization knowledge was Apple Developer Documentation, which is fairly complete. If you are looking to distribute (Haskell) apps on Macs, this may be useful to you! I will also explain how GHC currently deals with the notarization requirement and hint at next steps. Although GHC still won’t be notarized for 9.6-more on that later-I did learn a lot about it, and I’d like to share that knowledge for posterity. Then, before you install, run the Disk Utility + partition your entire disk. Keep doing this till you get an installer that runs. The way you do this is download latest installer, starting with High Sierra + if you get a message saying your hardware is to old, then download the next most recent installer. I'd do a complete disk wipe + install OSX from scratch. OSX is free + acquiring/installing a disk from a non-Apple source. I would never install any code I purchased of Ebay or anywhere except Apple. ![]() downloads/ macos provides all OSX downloads.īTW. You'll require downloading + running installers manually.
